Intoccabile is perhaps the most influential Canadian dubstep & grime producer around.



He is the owner of the legendary underground imprint Fyutchaflex recordings and events ( www.fyutchaflex.ca ), which was established in 2001 in order to promote by way of releases and events the then budding dark Garage and Grime sounds. His radical, aggressively normative vision of what Grime could be, or rather, should be, his unrivalled expertise as an engineer, his grotesquely sublime sense of the musical have all contributed to put him in a most comfortable position in the past few years.











Astoundingly, all of his releases, without exception, have become underground classics, and his much talked about Grime album

« Grime related » has become a best-seller mere days after its release in digital form.

His productions are smooth and visceral and all at the same time dutty bass driven crushers, no small feat! His mixes are flawless and beyond coherent. Intoccabile is a man shrouded in mystery. Intoccabile literally means untouchable : you can hear and feel him but you cannot see him, an ominous presence…



Intoccabile was introduced to music – Reggae, soca, hip-hop, classical music - by his father and uncle: “When I was younger I listened to Public enemy and Gladiator with quite a few reggae and dancehall artists such as Yellowman, ninjaman, Daddy Lizard and Tiger.” “These days I listen to a lot of Dubtech and classical music. If you listen to my pieces, you'll find that these influences really show. Dubstep wise, I would have to say that Toasty, Ekaj, Scarecrow and the whole destructive recordings crew have influenced my sound.” “Being exposed to so much music triggered something in me. I started making music at a very early age. I started playing the organ, then the keyboard and the flute. Then I was introduced to electronic music production by some friends and that was it!”







A strong advocate of finding your own voice as a producer, Intoccabile wants to push the boundaries of people’s ideas of Dubstep. “Within Dubstep, we are the victims of what is happening across the board in the music industry: low sales are driving producers towards performance. This has very specific effects on the aesthetics of dubstep. Those producers, who are now also performers, will produce pieces that are more geared towards the dancefloor. And since producers who produce more esoteric, for lack of a better term, forms of dubstep get booked less, they will have the tendancy to stick with what works on the dancefloor. There's also the fact that when you are constantly playing out and touring, well, this doesn't leave you a whole lot of time to experiment and this is exactly what this music needs : patient people who spend days, weeks, months experimenting with material and structures in order to push this music forward.”







“My best rave was in 98 in an abandoned warehouse. The rave didn't even have a name ! No flyers, just word of mouth. It was basically kids with a big rig who decided to throw a huge party. Loads of people skanking with their hoods up to dark and heavy bass music. Unforgettable. I was playing dark jungle back then.”



The mystery man has some advise for DJ’s and producers. “Work hard, day and night, towards your goals. Being a good DJ and producer is important, but you shouldn't neglect promoting yourself and your work. Don't be afraid to invest time, money and effort in what you believe.” “School and work are important, but don't let them get in the way. If you want to go pro, it will be hard, there will be tears, but in the end it will be worth it.” “Grime is the culmination of everything I have accomplished, music wise, in my life. I believe everything I have accomplished so far was but a preparation for what I am doing now.” “I know that in twenty, thirty years, I will be looking back at what I am doing right now with pride. A life of Grime... I probably should rephrase and say Grime is my life.
